Hello guys .

I need desperately a dog in 90 mm , probably some leftover from some 90 mm figure kit . I need it to be good in detail , and if can be avoided to be a german shepperd, or i ll have to modify.

Trades , and repays on the talking

Thanks a lot

Costas

In case any one knows some brand releasing a single dog kit , please advice !!!

Costas - I wouldn't mind taking a crack at sculpting a dog.

I think I'm going to add one [in 120mm] to my Royal Naval Division diorama. Probably a Belgian breed, but haven't decided which.

If you don't want a German shepherd - what type dog DO you want? I would need pics, height at withers, etc. and when you need it.

All the best,
Dan

Dan, you ever decide to do a Shepherd, let me know. I'll give you plenty of reference. I have 3 of them.

BTW just an FYI...German Shepherds were founded in 1898 by Captain Max von Stephanitz.

Mike - Let's see what Costas wants to do first, but in what scale would you want the German shepherd? Obviously, I'm more familiar with 120mm, not really interested in 54mm or smaller [at least not right now]. Also in what pose? Are you good at casting? Unfortunately I'm not.

All the best,
Dan

Dear Dan hi and thanks a lot for beeing interested to help .

I include below , some information about it like dimensions characteristics , size and the rest .

Border Collies pictures

Description characteristics

The Border Collie is a medium sized bundle of energy, looking rather like a lightly built Australian Shepherd without a bob-tail. The body is slightly longer than the height at the withers. The skull is fairly wide with a distinct stop. The muzzle tapers to the black nose. The ears are usually half-perked. The oval eyes are generally dark brown, except in merles where one or more eyes may be blue. The teeth should meet in a scissors bite. The tail reaches at least to the hock and is sometimes raised when the dog is excited, but is never carried over the back. There are two varieties of Border Collie: one with coarse hair (thick, straight, about 3 inches (7.6 cm.) long), and one with sleek hair (about 1 inch (2.5 cm.) long. The coat colors come in black and white, tri-color, red & white, black & gray, and all black. White should never be the main color. The longer haired variety should have a mane and tail brush. The hair on the face, ears and front legs is always short and sleek. Since Border Collies are bred for working ability and intelligence rather than for physical beauty, conformation varies widely.

Sizes in real dogs

Height: Dogs 19-22 inches (48-56 cm.) Bitches 18-21 inches (46-53 cm.)
Weight: Dogs 30-45 pounds (14-20 kg.) Bitches 27-42 pounds (12-19 kg.)

The poses i have in mind are the 3 following .Theyre different but depends what suits u better in sculpting .

Costas,my friend,I think I may be able to get you want you want. It's a resin dog in a similiar pose to photo no.2. If I'm not wrong, all you need is to add the fur to it. Drop me a reply ASAP,won't you ? Cheers !
Kenneth.

Costas - If Kenneth already has a suitable resin dog model in 90mm that can be modified to suit your needs, then I'll drop out and let him do that. That's a lot simpler and more likely to give you a good result. You guys figure that out and if you still want me to sculpt one, get back in touch with me, OK? I'm still perfectly happy to try to sculpt the dog and a border collie would be an interesting one to do. I've always liked that breed.

All the best,
Dan
