Hi guys,

thanks to everyone who commented on my initial pic. I've made some progress over the weekend.
Still just base coating at this stage, although completed an oil wash over the gold braid on the uniform.

The paintwork on the face and gold lace is brilliantly executed.
As Brian says, it's good that you have maintained the navy blue of his jacket.

Thanks guys,

Spent last night working on the gold braiding on the jacket, adding shadows and highlights and generally tidying up some of the details and making it look a bit distressed . Still base coating. Much yet to do.

I had another session with the brushes last night and started work on the medals and decorations on the uniform.

I still haven't done much in the way of highlighting and shading, and still need to add the left hand carrying the sword.

Here are the latest update pics.

All the base coating work is now done, and now I'm working on the shading and highlighting effects and finishing off some of the finer details of the uniform and decorations and the sword.

Hi Tony,
Even without the highlights this is with no doubt the best rendition I have seen in the long time this figure has been on the market.
The gongs and silk sashes really make this piece.
