No he isn't, what he is is a very nice figure, very elegant and an unusual subject which is always a good thing.

Sadly my knowledge of Spanish history is not great, that said I like the figures and uniforms far more than knowing the history. I really like the variety of uniforms Spanish military history throws up, in fact one of my next projects is my own make of a Husare de Pavia, please accept my apologies if my spelling or syntax is all wrong.
