Simply beautiful bust from Life Miniatures, MG42 Tripod Carrier. It's a shame it's not a full figure because it would go nicely with my PMC John Rosengrant MG 42 limited edition figure. i think with a bit of jiggery pokery I could make a Sugo or similar mould and attempt to make this into a full figure :). But all the same it's a lovely bust and can't wait to see how Lee paints it, my money's on Italian pattern parka.

Though it may be even more problematic if we don't get a sculpt of the whole tripod! It would be nice to have this as I say as a full figure with perhaps an ammo box in each hand?

Hello Ydgin I am guessing through Lee's usual stockists SK miniatures and El Greco miniatures if like me you are in UK. Or Directly from Lee.
And for others just look here and navigate Where to Buy :)

OK, it looks great, but I give up. . . You mentioned John
Rosengrant. . . So I'm going to guess. . . It this a 120mm
Bust??? Enlighten us, ignorant old people, just what
scale is this bust???? I would appreciate it. We're not
able to stand in front of the actual piece. So we're just
trying to guess the scale while looking at a photograph
of it. Please someone, help me out here??

This is a 1/10 scale bust, my limited edition john rosengrant is the same scale and is a full figure and I was just commenting that if this was a full figure it would go nicely with the rosengrant figure, and here's a picture of said figure. Hope

this helps

I thought John's figure was 1/9 not 1/10
But I agree a full figure of his would have been great, I would have bought two

Some really fine details on this one. I can even make out the front sight blade under its hood! Another awesome bust by Mr. Lee! (y)

The 200mm MG-42 Gunner from Miniatures PMC is on the smaller side of 1/9 scale and would likely be OK with a 1/10 scale figure like Youngs stuff and this bust. No 2 figures seem to agree what is 1/9-1/10 or 200mm, and I have found a number of them that can be used interchangeably. One thing I have noted about Johns large scale figs is that they often have heads that are on the small side, and I actually have a number of 1/10 scale figure heads that are larger than the heads in the 1/9 scale figs he has sculpted.

Gentlemen I do believe you are absolutely correct, John's figure has a head that is slightly on the small size so my idea is probably not workable as Lee's figures are correct full 1/10th scale, but it would have been a nice idea. So apologies about my incorrect comment about the scale and any possible confusion caused. Thank you for your comments on this thread I find PF members very supportive in this hobby.

Really nicely done but as a non-WWII guy I have to say that I hope this isn't the trend from Life....after the great Nam photog, Churchill, McCarthur Stalingrad marching guy, this generic helmeted landser is a bit run of the mill in terms of topic - great sculpt but boring to me. I guess you have to sculpt what sells. I suppose the future releases from Life will indicate where the bucks lie. I have not bought any of their first 4 despite being sorely tempted to pic up the photographer and the Stalingrad guy so maybe I am partly to blame.

I for one can't wait to get my hands on this one. Been a while since I've been exited about a release, but this one is very nice, busy, compact and very well sculpted.
