Saying that pieces are cloned and Carl having a signature style are two different things. I feel Carl's pieces, if anything, are ethnically correct, besides the fantastic sculpting. His pugnacious faces always match the time period from which they are from. This coming from someone who doesn't paint a lot of busts.

Bob

Well bearing in mind I sculpt somewhere between 30- 50 pieces a year in various scales, periods and styles, and you pick out 5...

But if you don't like what I sculpt thats fine you're absolutely entitled to your opinion.

But as long as my clients and their customers are happy I'll continue to do what I do.

But thanks anyway for your input.

Carl

Carl, no wories, as you can see, your FAN CLUB is behind you...

Of which you are clearly NOT a member, it seems!
I don't force anyone to like anything I sculpt. You obviously don't like my offering and that is absolutely fine. There is plenty of products from varoius manufacturers all over the world.

Never mentioned that I don't like what you create, I have the Iroquois Bust of the French and Indian War box-art from Ernest R, and liked him allot. My point was that IMO your bust has the same Aboriginal Indian Face style all over the place...and sometimes, of course IMO, does not fit well with European 19th Century faces...

Of course you didn't mention you don't like my work. But thats what was meant, without actually saying it....
You do have a right to your "HUMBLE OPINION", and I have a right to reply to it.

Cheers

Not really, ONCE AGAIN, my opinion was related to the face LOOK physiology, does not mean it is not a good sculpture....
Carl my friend, don't waste your time with me, after all, is just me.

Have a great night

I can see where Debrito is coming from.Yes there are close similaritaries, but it is the same sculptor and there are bound to be similaritaries. Most figure afficianadoes will be able to tell who sculpted a piece without being told who sculpted it.
It is no different to a painted piece,we all have our own style and again a lot of people would be able to tell who painted it without knowing who.I personally think the majority of Carl's sulpts are fantastic.
All the best.
Ralph.

By insinuating my opinion is swayed and that I am part of some sort of Fan Club, when in fact I just am very pleased with the work done for me. As you posted one of my pieces I think it reasonable to be allowed to comment.

Sorry if in any mean I insult you and your product, was not my goal., Once again, The busts are very good, in sculpture, historical accuracy and details, but if you have a product that you are selling worldwide you have to be able to accept-take criticism even so, you don’t agreed with …… That being said, in my opinion, and I think to have the right to mention as we are in a Freedom OF SPEECH forum, these busts has all the same Indian Faces…

C’est tout….

You seem determined to continue your pursuit!
Like I said your entitled to your opinion. Others have a right to their opinion too, and dare I say the right voice it. After all it is a "free open forum"!

1- It is the first time ever someone not glorify your creation, so you don’t know how to deal with.. But you should, because as a sculptor who sell products you should be able to handle critiques, if someone put his money on it, has the right to say what they think….so, growth up and stop crying.

2- ‘’Critique is lifeblood of improvement, if you want to get better asking for’’…This was a signature of Enion,

That being said I send I huge kiss and hog….un grand beso
Have a wonderful week
