Hi,
I'm Lennart Hoffmann and i'm new here. this is a great site and the figures here are just unbelievable good. I've been painting figures since 4 years and i moulded my first figure 1 1/2 year ago, but I build models since 6 years. I'm better at moulding so I postet this thread here. :)

This is my latest projekt, a miner during the industrial revolution (I had this topic at school:D )

All three figures need already a lot of work. I would like to hear critics/comments (I'm just 15, I can learn:D )

Yours faithfully
Lennart Hoffmann, Bremen, Germany

Hi Lennart, welcome to the planet..!!

With skill and enthusiasm like this while you are 15 years old I'm sure you will have a bright and very creative future.
Study anatomy and show consideration over pose and balance and you'll develop a solid base to work from. I'm sure you will discover different putties and clays along the way and will have your preferences...

Keep showing your work and experimenting....well done..!!

All the best...Roy.

hi lennart and welcome here
when i had 15 i didn't know how to scuplt ... so i think you will be a good sculptor in the future.
It's always a pleasure to see "the new generation" in action ;)
Go ahead

Seb.

You seem to be off to a good start. When I was 15 I was converting figures but not sculpting them from scratch. Look around the site especially this forum. You will find a lot of works in progress and see how some of the masters go about sculpting a figure. It can be a real eye opener.

As Roy says study anatomy. There are a lot of books and web sites that can really help. Remember that when some one gives you advice they are trying to help. Learning to take criticism of your work can sometimes be hard but it is one of the best ways to learn. Be open to what you read here and you will grow by leaps and bounds. You will literally be surrounded by some of the best sculptors in the world here and I have found that they can be very helpful.

Best of luck.
Jeff
