Ernesto has knocked this one out with his paints. It's a great bust. I love the shield and the unusual subject. I don't like the exaggerated tilt to the head, it feels unnatural to me but that can likely be easily fixed. Nice work gentlemen.

Thanks for the comments it's great to get feedback so we can use it to move forwards and see if what we are producing is liked

Many thanks

Stuart

It's a great sculpt and nice to see this subject and handled as well as this.

Personally, for me, I dislike busts that are just cut off at the waist. (Even Young are guilty of this sometime) When it's in the display cabinet it almost always feels like I couldn't be bothered to do the whole kit and didn't bother attaching the legs. Mind you the reverse is true too, there are some super busts out there that are basically a head, neck and a slight "v" of chest and shoulders.

It's all down to personal preference, and that's just mine. I like this enough to consider getting the Dremel out on it.....

Like it though and to be commended for adding a full size shield - that'll be great to paint.

I'm very like this bust, it will be mine. And the full shield is better than a small part. It's more impressive.

congratulations for the sculptor.

Thanks Guys!

Ernesto has made a truly remarkable job of the painting.

For those who are considering removing the bottom of the bust will have a hellish job accomodating the large shield into a piece thats cut off at the shoulders. In my opinion the only way that can work aesthetically is to remove a large piece of the shield also, to create a ballance in the piece!

This is one excellent peice of art....Many thanks to Stu,Carl and Ernesto.I love it,I think that adding the whole shield gives the painter more scope and if someone doesnt like it well...They can always cut it down to suit !!! Its better than wishing that the shield was bigger and contemplating building some on.I will definately be adding this one to the stash.
Carl...How was the holiday mate ???
Regards
Pete
