Found an interesting piece of wood in a hedge of a neighbour and now it is laying in my workroom. I think I can make some unusual bases from the piece next year. Don´t know what kind of wood it is but I like it

The only problem will be where to cut and not to destroy to much. Btw. is is roundabout 1,50 m long and 60 - 70 cm wide

That's quite a lot of wood! I'd love to see what you do with it. Be careful though, it looks like it could break apart when you cut it.

You need to let it dry before using it !
A piece like that can take years to dry properly using air only.
Kiln dry is the way to go if you need it fast
