Hi Guys,this is my 54mm scratch built figure of Staff Sergeant Major Marr.Auckland Mounted rifles.Walker's Ridge Gallipoli 1915.Staff Sergeant Marr was killed at Walkers Ridge May 18th 1915.I sculpted the figure from Magic sculpt and Duro putties.I used a multipose Lee Enfield .303 rifle with modified bayonet and scabbard.I still have more sculpting to do on the figure.Hope you like him.Kind regards John

Hi John, lovely work so far mate...what have you got left to do on him..?
I especially like the webbing and equipment, it looks to fit very naturally.
I'm just watching the BBC series from 1964 'The great war' and I've just seen the episode that covers Gallipoli, so it's very interesting to see your figure.

Look forward to more progress..

Hi Guys,thanks for the compliments on my figure, my friends.Glad you like him.Roy just a few things to finish like rifle sling and a few buckles on 1908 pattern webbing.Undercoated him last night and going to start painting him today.I want to have him finished for the New Zealand I.P.M.S Nationals in May.

Very nice indeed and as was said above, nice to see something different. Also, thanks for the idea of using what look like wine corks to pin your figures to. Always looking for something to pin stuff to and have a 1 gallon bag of old corks in the basement:)
Cant wait to see the finished figure.

Hi Guy,Pascal and Herb.Many thanks for the kind words.Herb.Yes the old wine corks are very useful for pinning the figures too when painting,glad it is something you can use.Guy,sorry the figure wont be a commercial one.Hope to get around to produce something commercial one day.Kind regards John
