Working on this scene again, not finished any 1/35 figures yet and trying Out Jo Sonja acrylics with Satin Varnish (W&N) for the first time with skin tones.

Hi Marcus

Thanks for posting the figures they are looking good , using Jo Sonja for flesh as well ...how you finding them ?

Do like the character you put into every single piece and what will be the individual stories in each figure interacting to tell the main story

The bomber with the nestles can is a favourite ...nice movement

Look forward to seeing more on this

Happy benchtime

Stay safe

Hi Nap,

Liking the Jo Sonja’s so far, added a little WN satin varnish for skin sheen, getting used to them but liking the results so far.

Made and added some barbed wire and broken defences in front of the trench, just a bit of detail but think it adds to the scene visually.

This is a great diorama. Are you making it for yourself or someone else?
Thanks Marco,

Making for myself and hopefully to commemorate those brave Wellington Anzacs, allies and Turks who fought and died in the folly that was the Gallipoli campaign.

My great uncle is buried at Suvla bay, Green Hill cemetery, so the whole campaign is an area of interest.

That's really nice.I just got done a mini series from Australia called Gallipoli which I thought was very well done.It was a brutal campaign.Look forward to see the finished version.

Thanks again Mark, agreed the Gallipoli campaign was a brutal slaughter from the start, the Allies went to the Dardanelles without proper planning, the maps were from the napoleonic period, few machine guns and no grenades or support weapons. They drastically under estimated the Ottoman forces; under the direction of Mustafa Kemel they expertly defended their own land, Mustafa later became the Atatuük statesman and founder of modern Turkey, so very underestimated adversary.

Hi Marcus

Thanks for the update pictures , looking really good now in position , the groundwork has come out really well

Nice to see you've not overly done the blood effects as well

Happy benchtime

Thank you again Nap, I couldn’t not add a few cuts to the men ready accounts of the battle most those on the front line had wounds mostly caused by egg bombs thrown by the enemy, the men who couldn’t fire a gun reloaded what they could for their comrades in arms.
