Lots has happened in the past 3 weeks in the planning of the 2009 APG Gettysburg Show and Fundraising project.
First we've changed hotels. For a number of reasons we decided to go with the Wyndam Gettysburg. Check it out at http://www.wyndham.com/hotels/MDTGE/main.wnt. The dates of 7, 8, and 9 Aug remain the same. If you've made reservations at the Eisenhower you will need to change them to the Wyndam.
We have also decided on our project for 2009. We will restore and conserve the Colors of the 5th Alabama Battalion, currently in the care of the State of Alabama Dept of Archieves and History in Montgomery, Alabama. These colors were captured at Picketts Charge and eventually came into the possesion of Joshua Chamberlain. The flag returned to the State of Alabama in 1943.The project will be headed by Bob Langenberg.
