Nice figure but...All large body shields ere slightly curved. Curved shields deflect a blow, flat shields get knocked aside.

You learn something new every day. I'd always thought that viking round shields were flat, partly because they travelled light and running repairs on a flat shield would be easier. Also being flat they slung much more easily along the 'gunwhales' of a longship. Any reference to viking curved round shields would be a welcome addition to my reference data.
Cheers

Well, at least they look like the classic portrayal of Vikings and not extras with weird haircuts from some post-apocalyptic Mad Max movie clone.

Indeeed. Vikings were well groomed and tended to have a liking for bright colours without a pair of leather trousers anywhere in the hysterical historical record.

I think 9 months in the making,is it really important about whether the shields should be curved,I think we should appriciate to hard work that's gone into it,I have reference books on Vikings with flatshields, the figure looks brilliant,I hav'nt seen any evidence on here to support curved shields either

I think the information about the convex shields of the Vikings is in the same section as the horns on their helmets. In any case, I would like to know in more detail how such sensational data came from.
