Absolutely great Alan! Very cool.

Actually, I have been working on something very very similar recently, so I'm a bit grumpy you are stealing my thunder, but at the same time I am happy that I can study how you handled this.:)

Cheers,
Adrian

Hi DaddyO, Oda, Anston - thanks for your positive feedback...

Hi Adrian - apology for "stealing" your thunder.... Glad you like it ! Happy to provide any feedback you need ;)

Had the pleasure of seeing this in the flesh.
It's an outstanding piece of modelling and painting.
The photos, excellent though they are do not show just how good the actual painting is.
It's one of those 54mm figures that you glance at and then keep coming back to have another look and each time you see details and subtleties that takes it well beyond good.
Allan has very modestly not mentioned he got gold and a standard Best in Show for this at HvB.
Cheers
Derek

Its not look like a painted figure.
Its look like a piece of history frozen in time.Like real, living soldier.
I dont want to comment fire effect. Can only to admire.

Thanks Andy, Chris, Dekiman

Hi Derek, thanks my friend... HvB was a great show , meeting the people and admired all other beautiful works were greatest. The award was indeed an honored ... ;)

Absolutely superb, Allan!
Fantasy painters often play with colour and light, but I love seeing the same techniques (and imagination) applied to historical figures. You have done it brilliantly.

Congrats on the gold and Best in Show awards, they are very well deserved.

Cheers

Great OSl effect an very effective use of cold versus warm colours. me gusto mucho!!!

Cheers,

Hi Allen,

damn, that's a shame to hear. I'm not on facebook, haven't been in years. Lost my password, among other problems. In the future it would be better if you could email me or send me a PM here on the site. Such a pitty, if you wanted we could have a painting jam. I really hope you can contact me the next time you'll be in Belgium.

How was your stay? were you able to do some modelling related trips over here? I hope you didn't had too many problems at the airport?

Take care my friend and I hope we'll meet soon,

Gino

A superb rendition of lighting effects.
Congratulations on the very well deserved Gold and BoS.

Cheers,
Andrew

I was at HVB and seeing it for real was a real joy. I think Del has most eloquently summarised what I wanted to write so I shall say no more ther than this figure is fantastic.

Cheers
