This is my version of the new Young bust Norman Knight Hastings 1066.
Loved this bust as soon as I saw it and couldn't wait to paint it.It's a beautifully sculpted piece and a pleasure to paint.

I agree with you, this is a great bust. I think if you went back and blended a little more and made deeper shadows you will be even more pleased. The shield is a nice ancient looking design and fits him very well.

I agree. The helmet, chainmail are perfect. The shield, with this "romanic" style drawing looks like the frescoes of the churches of the time.

Hi Mark

well i`m not amused - why ? I don`t have this Bust .

Great paintjob and i think a little more washings on gambeson and it is perfect .

Thanks alot for taking the time to comment guys I really appreciate it.

Mike and Hendryk, I reckon you might be right about more depth in the gambeson, I'll go back and address that.

David and Ben, the sheild was alot of fun to paint. I can't remember where I got the dragon image from I've had it for years.
I made some alterations to it to fit the shield.

Mary, it's a beautfully sculpted bust which always helps when painting anything and I'm sure from the pieces I've seen you tackle so far that you would really enjoy this one.

Eduardo and Daniel, the chainmail on this bust is the best piece of sculpting I've seen on any bust or figure.

Xenofon, Tony and John thanks for your encouragement, much appreciated....Cheers.
