Another nice one, Simon. To me, this is Sid Horton at his best. His depiction of late Victorian / Edward officers in mess dress was second to none.
These are getting better all the time, Simon, excellent!
Looks great
Mobo

Mario
Many thanks Mario, I am painting more at the moment as I have put the sculpting on hold for a while to practice painting.
Cheers Simon
Mario, figure modelling in the UK is not a very popular hobby and men our age painting soldiers seems to be frowned upon by the general populance. I was at a wargames show briefly this weekend and it was very very crowded, same if you go to a model railway show. The Scale Model Challenge show at Telford is huge but compared to everything else there isn't much in the way of figures. Here we have our own Planet and community so we don't need the rest of the general.public! Well that's how I see it anyway.
Cheers Simon
It is a bit odd that figure modelling isn't as big in the UK as it is in some European countries and the US. Maybe that's because the IPMS has been the biggest modelling organisation in the UK and it was, and remains, primarily focused on aircraft modelling. Scale ModelWorld is a huge and incredibly impressive exhibition but although there are figures on display (an I felt the standard of figures in the competition was higher than in previous years) they are in the minority. IPMS is trying to encourage more participation from sci-fi/fantasy modellers and I felt the standard of fantasy stuff in the competition was quite good. But then you get people complaining that a sci-fi model won best in show because (they say) sci-fi models have no place in a "scale" modelling show.Mario, figure modelling in the UK is not a very popular hobby and men our age painting soldiers seems to be frowned upon by the general populance.
