Keith, that Napoleonic grenadier was sculpted by Ray Lamb. Part of a range of 75mm figures he did for Hinchliffe Models before he started with Poste Militaire. The foot figures have passed through several owners since then & I don't know who has them now. The mounted figures, along with the large scale Samurai, still remain with Skytrex and are out of production. David Grieve sculpted for several companies but not Hinchliffe Models.
There are a number of figures/cannon from the Hinchliffe Models range which would still hold up well if reissued but I understand that Skytrex have no plans to reissue them, pity!

Geoff
Hi Geoff,
Sorry, i stand corrected. I knew that he did not sculpt the Grenadier but I thought that his limited edition Zulu Chief was released through Hinchliffe......but I may be wrong here as well?
I agree that many of the figures of the 70's would stand the test of time.
Cheers,
Keith

Painted this one about a century ago myself still in the days when humbrols would cover everything in one coat.
the trousers were much more scarlet in my version rightly or wrongly ,the figure as I remember was well detailed and very crisp , maybe a bit limp by todays standards but I think it made front page of MM he looks a little squat in your picture
but I remember him being quite lean.
Nice effort Roger ,hope to see you do more Rounds (y)

Hi Keith, yep the Zulu was released by Realmodels, a range marketed by Seagull Models based in London. The Lancer Officer was sculpted by Dave Jervis(Jarvis?) and like all his figures was beautifully detailed even if the anatomy was sometimes suspect.

Hi Geoff,
Among a few other DG figures I still have the Zulu, a great figure for its day. After a little head scratching I remember it was Rose Miniatures where DG sarted out.

Keith

I thought I'd just opened on of my very old Mil Mods.
Did you wear a tanktop when you painted it, getting down to some D.I.S.C.O?
Carl.(y)

Hi Carl,
I used to wear one I blagged off of Keith Chegwin, I think I might just; get it out blow the dust off and re-live the moment.
(No not really)
Long live Stan Catchpol.
Keith

the last photo of the clackers looks like someone has had a nasty accident:LOL:
Does you tank top still fit, if so you haven't been drinking enough beer. :)

Hi Ron
I have to say the Tank Top still fits perfectly other than the bit that should be covering my belly and it does not reach down to the top of my flares anymore. Living here in France there is not a drop of good ale to be had so Vin Rouge is the order of the day but I am back to Blighty today so its proper beer all the way.
Hi Roger,
I didn't think that an old Lancer could stir up so much emotion.......you should go 3D more often! May be, if youare stuck for a subject, you could try something from the tank top regiment of the 70's.I haven't had such a giggle on't tinternet since the Old King was on the throne. Thank you and you are right they never did go out of fashion, these young pups are only just catching up with us trendies.
Keep smiling
Keith

Ah Levi sta press, Just a little too short, scarlet socks and Royals brogues and above all a Ben Sherman and infamous TT.
Best tunes......Single London calling the Clash, Album Rumours Fleetwood Mac.
When will we get to know what your next 3D figure will be Roger or do we get to vote on it?
Keep the tank top on for a while longer......."never cast a clout 'till May is out".
Cheers Keith

Funny you should mention London Calling Keith, my eldest daughter (17) caused a bit of a resurgence in that song in our house a few weeks ago.

You'll have to wait a few weeks to which 3D fig I've got planned but it will be a newish release rather than an oldie. ;)

Roger.
