Well, if FigureWorld has had an effect then this would be it…I have actually done some painting for the first time in a long while. Actually this piece by Robert Lane at Elan13 Miniatures was started back in October 2012! Since then I have started work on the face in oils with some work on the jacket. However, I was unhappy with how the straps were going so out came the airbrush to help. I hate painting white by hand. It never looks rights. Therefore, I masked up what had been painted using a mix of masking tape and fluid and they were airbrushed with a mixture of white, ivory, ochre and burnt umber. This has provided a useful base from where I can now detail the belts and and some scuffs and damage to them. It was also a bit of an experiment in using the masking fluid that thankfully came off without a problem! Here are some pics…
