If you wanted to paint as a Royal Marine, then the insignia plate on the sword strap would need to be changed to a RM one, also the buttons would have a different crest. There may be other subtle differences, but they would only become apparent on closer examination of the full size casting. Never the less a fantastic sculpt, and I would love one, and would paint it as the designer intended, ie a Royal Fusilier. I am drooling at the mouth yet again.

The epaulettes might be the major change required to change this to anything other than a fusilier officer.

Gordon, good to see you in Yate! Couldn't help but overhear you talking about a figure you intend releasing for Euro Militare. Any details?

Hello Sean
Like alot of manufactures I'll be hopefully looking to release a couple of new figures at Euro, one will be 120mm scale and the other 75mm but no further details available at the moment. Enjoyed the show at Yate which was well organised and well attended.
Cheers

Hello Folks
I've sent paypal requests to those who ordered this kit but if I've missed anyone out or any members still want one drop me a line on [email protected]
I hope to have a painted version soon.
cheers

I've checked the castings for the bust version of this and it would be very easy to remove the wings from under the epaulettes. They might need a little thinning down to fit the shoulders but nothing dramatic. The plate on the shoulder belt would need to be amended for a different regiment & I'm not sure about the gorget, will have to check references. My first reaction was to paint the bust as an Officer of the Foot Artillery just to reduce any similarity between the bust and the full figure.

In the book Bloody Albuera by Fletcher/Embleton is a plate of a Welsh Fusilier Officer wearing non regulation dark blue breeches. The notes on the print suggest this was quite common. It might make a nice variation on this figure & anyway dark blue is easier to paint than white particularly at this scale, isn't it?

Got the figure that you sent yesterday! Brilliant! Can't wait to get started. It looks even better than I rembered from Yate!

Hope you enjoy painting it Sean. I have one undercoated and would like to get on with it but don't seem to get as much time for painting. I like Geoffs idea of a Royal Artillery officer which will be a change from the redcoats but I will have to paint mine as the Fusilier.
Send some pics once you have it done.
Cheers

Certainly will! Do you do commisions? Look forward to seeing what you have on offer at Euro!
Regards
Sean
