A Fixture
Hello folks,
here's the latest fig. on my work bench.
This is an officer of the Paris national guard, formed in 1789 to police the cities and maintain order after the tumultuous 1789 's ,the storming of the bastille (14 july,1789) end up in the disband of the gardes francaises, many former guards joined the newly forme National guard, which was considerd very prestigious to serve in, mainly formed by middle class , the guards had to uniform themselves.
This guard will be part of the little vignette i am working on,it will have Les Blancs ,2 troopers and one officer talikng to the National guard officer.
For now the arms and sword is not completely attached,it's just sitting on a ball of greenstuff for picture purposes.
the left arm of the guard holding the pipe is still in the decides, not sure it was common at the early revolutionary period to smoke a pipe, i know it was common under the empire.
Best regards
