These days I tend to work only with large scale (90mm and up) metal figures and i was wondering if anyone knew the availability, if any, of the following ranges;

almond sculptures, barton miniatures, ceremonial

Also does anyone remember the 90mm figures designed by Norman Errington for
Greenwood & Ball? The last time I saw those Slaters, the plasticard people, had them on a stand at a model railway show and that was way back in the 1980's.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Geoff

You mention some good old names there, sadly all gone now.

Your best bet in the UK would be Bonapartes in Bath. Dave Freeman has a massive collection of old stuff he takes to regional shows. Some of it is a bit grim, but there is some interesting stuff there too. Could be worth giving him a call.

They do turn up, albeit infrequently on eBay, and I suppose there may be some Planeteers who have such things in their grey armies.

Best regards

Phil

Hi Geoff. I am going with Dave Freeman to Darlington (Sat) and Dartford (Sun) so if you can make it to either of them you could check out his swag.

Of course, the place we all love to hate, eBay, is always a good place to check.....sorry, someone had to say it!

Thanks for the responses. I guess that I want to keep clear of ebay for reasons elaborated elsewhere. There are some old figures in ranges produced by rosedale -
grieve and hearne classics and noble miniatures - lamb 75mm foot figures and hussar 90mm's.

Unfortunately shows are pretty much out for me. Its interesting to see that Almond Scuptures might still be around, anyone have an address?

Geoff

Thanks Ken but those are figures cast in resin which I avoid. For anyone with less of a resin phobia there are some superb figures in that range especially the British ensign at Albuera.
