Still very early days, but I think you'll get the idea.
Carl.

Looking good Carl, brings back old memories, bricks, QRF, Sangars, loading bays, Muckagees, walking backwards, butt maps etc etc, look forward to seeing this fellow completed.

Dennis
Yeah !! The old nylon flack jackets with buttstops for the SLR, radio in top pocket, and an earpiece etc. Camo is very nicely started mate, look forward to the progress keenly.:)

N.I. Figure

Great start Carl and one of the best DPM renditions I have seen on a figure - camo style and colours look bang on - Hope you are keeping well!

Gary

Thanks Gary, plenty of reference material.;) I've base coated the lightweights(trousers) Not to sure about the colour, I think they should be more green, if you know what I mean?
But tomorrows another day,
Carl.

Carl,
Colour looks OK for the denims, when they were washed out they used to fade to a greyish-green shade for that really warry look. Or you could iron them on one side only for the 2-tone look, which I got several b***ockings for:)

This is also making me dusty-eyed with memories of chogieburgers, RUC Xmas parties, Palace Bks, Girdwood Park, Sydenham, fetching Felix to blow things up, Woodbourne, Andytown sangar, Whiterock, North Howard St Mill, Twinbrook & the gun battle in the DeLorean factory. Happy days!:)

Carl, a great start, will it be finished for the club on Thursday :p.
I know you've mentioned a lamp post or sign, but looking at the figure as is with the white-washed wall behind him, perhaps it could be another option . You could stick a poster on the wall or some graffiti to show it's in Belfast.

Cheers Ken

Dont forget the "egg banjo's". Got caught more than once raiding the cookhouse/kitchen at New Barnsley RUC Stn in the wee hours after patrol.

Barrie.

Thanks Barrie, some egg stains down the front of his flak jacket might add to the authenticity of the piece. Unfortunately my Milliput skills are up to sewn in creases though.
More tomorrow,
Carl.

Well you r turning into a camo master Carl. Really like the way this is going. Waiting for more progress>
