I like the idea of women in war, maybe more specifically during WW2, like russian scout girl, courrier of the French resistance or greek freefighter, grey mouse for Germany etc. But that may be too restrictive (and too basic maybe) in compariosn with what you have in mind, and I understand with some more talent you want to sculpt some facial expressions (which scare me out of hell). if I would propose a character, it would be Marlon Brando.

hi guys
with there being such a varied interest in woman /man why don't we just say Hollywood or Movies and people could choose there favourite and then compare once finished and any scale so it isn't just open to portrait sculptors of say 1/6Th scale or larger but down to those who sculpt 28mm /54mm full figures all welcome :) so instead of seeing 10 Christopher walken wich in it's self would be cooler than a penguins knickers we could have wide variety from say Angelina Jolie to Charlie Chaplin or just a character that is just in a film say hitman for example hope i haven't confused every one wots your thoughts cheers nick

' Hollywood' is accessable Nick and covers a whole range.
Could be an actor/actress from any movie and in any scale...Lara Croft on a vignet with a real tombe :) for small scale. One can have a go at George Clooney or De Niro.
Would be a nice collection this way.

I think, Nick, we have ourselves a pleasant problem. The luxory to chose out of nice themes but we wait for people to jump in.
Maybe we should already start!

it will be fun, think we should post the progress in this topic and everybody is still free to hop in.

if you liked the idea 17.) favorite comic personage I need to think before I start.
Could be 'Storm' ( challenge will also be the paintwork of Don but that's afterwards) or Wally Woods version of 'Daredevil' , Trigo, our Dutch 'Franka' and last but not least, 'Buck Danny'

if you meant you liked all of the ideas I give you the pleasant honour to decide what now :) ( with a light preferance for the comic)

♪♪..I know I'm rihihihight...for the first time in my life...♪♪ I'm covering Crowded house a bit now but this melodic line is very close to my thoughts.
Seeing things in an ironic way Alanis sung about people that won the lotery but died the next day or met this beautiful man together with his beautiful wife ( not even close to ironic but just bad luck if you ask me) is a vision that remains in me for the nice 'wouldhavebeentought' about ten pair of hands trying to shape Mister Walken.

Nick gave it some thought and is aware that the fun prevails in this one.
Ironic it would be if just the two of us would have a go at :

17.) favourite comic character

and still call it a groupsculpt :)

Just to have a baseline here we decided it would be 17.)

I'll do some homework first but I'm clear. For me it'll be Wally Woods version of Daredevil.
The couple of stories he drew are closed in my heart. I have superb memories from my youth in which I actualy had a red sock over my head and protected my own neighbourhood. Talking about ironics :)

I think I will do a full figure, just for myself in my living, a nice pedestal, painting in oils.
An hommage for Wally Wood and perhaps myself :)

come on people, show us your favourite Tin Tin, Donald Duck, Ric Cochet, Sgt Rock or whatever! :)

If you follow my sculpts you will see a pattern (and with my friends, a lot of rolled eyes)
I love crazy characters and none were as crazy as this guy -laughed my head off while young watching his antics
Ian

meep meep, go for it Ian.

Do the Roadrunner please, make me smell the melted desertroad :D

as I said, I need to think about depiction of DD. He might as well float through the air, clambed with his wire to a lantern or have a dangerous attacking position bended.

you make drawings or just start with wires and putty?

René

I like Favorite Comic Characters. By the way René anyone who quotes Crowded House lyrics is someone with great taste in music. Neil Finn is my favorite song writer.

Yes - I remember their old split Endz days
Now back on topic - Road Runner did not do much but Wyle had the more adventurous poses and expresions and to a few 'Acme' boxes and failed contraptions -ticks all the boxes
as to beginning -bit of both - always what would be 'rough' sketches then straight to wire and clay with them some detail or expression worked on through research and sketches

I played some of their wellknown songs already on guitar but thanks to my girl who gave me some cd's I enjoy them every day and this Australian purity is really inspiring. Good lyrics, beautiful voices and well orchestrated.
So, I like to quote lyrics but my girl has taste! Now she listens often to Kelly Jones and I'm afraid I'll need to sculpt him to ( where I already promised her Michael Hutchence and Ed Kowalzyc :) )

think it's important we keep affecting each other with positive gifts in life.

it's only Natural :)
