Congratulations on your new venture Joachim.........beautiful work and I shall add both of these to my "wish List"

Since I'm always trying to improve my techniques, I thought I´ll post some more photos of the paintjob and get some feedback and critique from you guys. The paints used are Valeijo acrylics.

Cheers
Joachim

Thanks for posting additional pics Joachim. If I were painting the bust I would try to get more contrast / detail out of the blanket / robe. It seems to have some fur detail and by using the dry-brush technique with a lighter color you could really bring out more detail there.

You've done an excellent job with the flesh and hair, so not comment there.

The hair wraps could use a little more contrast too, like the robe with maybe a lighter shade than the robe to distinguish them.

The red shirt is "spot on" and looks great.

Hope this helps,
Guy

I had the chance to look at these bust yesterday. Ive only looked at the chief as I was afraid to buy it and I didnt want to spend more money than I did in the shop. :)

This is a one piece bust. With only a stand supplied. Its all metal and the the back is hollowed out and the bottom is transforming to a 7mm metal rod at the bottom to fit in the coinlike stand.

The cast is very well done as detail is very good. I could only find one seamlime which were a bit courser compared to newer Pegaso release but finer than averag Andrea standard.

I actually bough the first bust released by this company and sculptor. An Uruk-Hai in resin. Ill keep you updated on that kit.

Cheers

Joachim is a GREAT sculptor and he is no newcomer at this hobby! His company Pagan Art produced this Frank Frazetta inspired "Dark Rider" many years ago! 1:12 Resin kit with amazing detail...Grattis Joachim! Your new Buccaneer is a must have!!

Wow, what a paint job you did on the dark rider. I get a real kick out of seeing somebody else paint my stuff. Some times I wonder what happens to the figures I sculpt and I haven’t seen any painted dark riders before, so thank you Petri for sharing!

Cheers and complements on your work
Joachim

I feel less contrast on larger pieces, especially really sharp contrast do not work on larger sacle pieces. Natural light does some of the work for you.~Gary

I like your busts, especially the pirate! I never knew the Dark Rider was produced. Does anyone know if it is available anywhere?

Hi Pete. Unfortunatly the moulds are in extremly por condition, and the masters look about the same. So it wont be sold by Pagan art any more, but who knows what’s coming in the future?

Ps try eBay, I have seen it there on more than one occasion (wasn’t cheap dough).

Good luck ;)
Joachim
