Thanks for the feedback guys........I appreciate the kind words of encouragement. Joachim has done a super job in sculpting this bust which makes it so easy and fun to paint.
Thanks Wojceich and Jay. I appreciate your feedback and comments. I just finished burnishing the knife blade and giving the handle a coat of primer as well as drilling his ear lobe out and installing an earring. Will post pics later.
Through all the phone calls and computer work I managed to make his earring and attach to the left ear. I used Hudson Allen detail solder for the earring. I also burnished the blade of the knife and actually sharpened it to assimilate a real knife tapering to a cutting edge. The knife is just placed in the mouth and after the primer on the handle dries it will be painted and fastened.
I was finally able to take some quick photos of the finished Buccaneer produced by Pagan Art & Miniatures and the wife says "He doesn't leave your collection" I was really pleased with how he came out and attribute this to Joachim and his superb sculpting abilities.
this bust is very nice.
The sculpt is well done.
And the paint too !!!!
Well it seem that our buccaneer needs some dirts.
An, maybe the pics are not good, but it seems that there is too much yellow ion the skin tones.
Anyway, nice paint job. I particulary appreciate the hat (bonnet?).
AAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!! Me likes this one Matey! What a piece of sculpture. Your technique has brought out the details perfectly! I hate to say it again, but I like the cap too! I need to get over to see the knife handle as well, it looks good in the pics. Nice work my friend!
