Hi there,

I just got a short question...

Whats the best basecoat to paint black?

I realise that I got to keep the black for the deepest shadows... But what's a good mix for the basecoat? I've heard that Black + Old Rose would do.
What would you say guys?

Cheers,
Wesley

There are lots of colors you can add to black to get a nice mid tone suitable for the basecoat. You can mix in flesh, brown, sand(ish color), even some blues if you want to get a cool shade of black. The sky's the limit.....litteraly! Plus your Rose color will do as well. Experiment with them and see what you get that you like. Keep us updated. ;)

I would think a very dark gray, using black for the darkest shadows. I seen great results using a small amount of flesh mixed with black for the highlights.~Gary
