It’s looking good so far Malc. The face changes as you start to add paint to it someone on a FB thread he had just under coated it took a photo and said in a certain light it had a look of Clint Eastwood. Just goes to show how people view him.

Keep up the good work Malc it’s coming along a treat.

I've got quite hooked into painting this, I'm finding it hard to put down.
I've base coated the the Navy coat with a mix of Scale 75 Navy and Black, while the collar, lapels and turnbacks Antares red.
At this stage a little detailing has been carried out on the collar and lapels.
I drilled and pegged the canteen for extra strength, and this has been painted using the Scale 75 wood and leather set.
For the cross belts, a base coat of Thar brown, then weathered by adding a little black and brown leather, highlights Mojave white.
I'll add more fine detail as I progress.

He's coming along well, I can see why you're enjoying this figure, I am sorely tempted myself. That Antares Red is a lovely colour.

Cheers Simon

I hace to say, i tried the Antares red and did not look as lively like this picture.
Very nice progress on this trooper.

I've been concentrating on getting the accoutrements in position, plus the arms, and base coating the jacket navy blue,
using a mix of Scale75 black and navy blue, and for the trousers Vallejo Yellow Ochre and Chocolate brown.
Up next is adding shadows and highlights, and fine detailing, before going on to the rifle.

That canteen, wow, a work of a master, really nice detail on it.

Switching back to this from the WW1 bust, to start detailing the jacket.
I want to achieve the appearance of it being of being a being well worn and grubby.
Starting with the base coat mix. Scale 75 Navy blue and black, made up two mixes, adding birch to one and white to the other,
so I could vary the tones where necessary.
To add a little weathering, some Kiwi brown and chocolate brown were adding.
Some further detailing needs to be carried with some tidying up too.
