Switching back to this from the WW1 bust, to start detailing the jacket.
I want to achieve the appearance of it being of being a being well worn and grubby.
Starting with the base coat mix. Scale 75 Navy blue and black, made up two mixes, adding birch to one and white to the other,
so I could vary the tones where necessary.
To add a little weathering, some Kiwi brown and chocolate brown were adding.
Some further detailing needs to be carried with some tidying up too.

I like the wear and tear look,
Theses Mixes you have mentioned seems to be working well.
Carry on Sir!

Continuing with the Continental, I wanted to weather the pouch and add some detail to the turnbacks.

I used Scale75 orange leather around the edges to give the effect of wear, and the court the edges with iroko to enhance the effect.
For the turnbacks, I varied the tones with orange and flesh.

I am thrilled with the effect of wear and tear on the cartridge box, what do you use for the edges?

Hi Daniel.
I'm glad you like the effect, its easy to achieve.
I begin with Scale75 Orange leather around the edges and gradually work inwards, once its dry, I dab the edges with Scale75 Iroko, and this
gives you a very realistic worn leather effect.

Hope that helps.

I've made a start on detailing the trousers and will add more weathering in the next session.
As I'd already applied the basecoat, I mixed up the highlight, 1st and 2nd shadow tones.
The highlight: Vallejo Yellow Ochre, Scale75 White. A very small amount of the 1st shadow was added.
1st shadow: Vallejo Yellow Ochre, Vallejo Chocolate Brown.
2nd shadow. Vallejo Yellow Ochre, Chocolate Brown, Scale75 Black.

My apologies the photos aren't great, but hopefully they will give you an idea of the detail I've added.

I love the contrast between lights and shadows, the whole figure looks very well put.
Keep up the great wok!
