Kumik (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=1/6+kumik+horse) and Breyer (https://www.breyerhorses.com/gg_valentine_heartbreaker) both do 1/6 horses, although Breyer's range of 1/9 horses is much bigger. You'd just have to strip the paint off and add you own saddlery.

My daughter used to collect those. I forgot. Not for this guy though. I am enjoying painting him. I only did a half figure rather than bust so I could get some cherry bum in.

Hi Colin,
I've really enjoyed following your work on this bust.
But one thing I've noticed is that he appears to have to many teeth showing (In close up) Ì suspect it may be just the way you sculpted them. Given I wish I had half your talent please don't take offense .

Chris :censored:

No offence. I didn't refer to any dentistry info when sculpting him so maybe. They look OK to me. Won't be changing them now in any case. Every piece is a learning opportunity and this was my first yelling mouth. Easier than I thought. I just sculpted the face, stuck a tool into the mouth and pulled the jaw down. Gotta love sculpey.

Moving forward. The barrel sash is mostly done.

The cartridge box is just undercoated for the metals.

The sword is painted grey in prep for the steel.

Colin,

That barrel sash is looking great as is the painting of that gold is a fine bit of work ..it would be so easy to loose the impact with the gold but not here.

Like the way it's sculpted to include the Crimson trousers

Thanks for sharing

Thanks Nap. He will look better once I get him far enough hose him down with dull coat, prior to finalizing the metals and the wash on the NMM lace. I had to get the trousers in to a small degree.

Colin

Amazing.

Sculpting and painting This is a complete work: the dream of more of us, I suppose

Awesome work Colin.......

Forgot to add the detail at the back of the barrel Sash looks really nice as well

What final wash are you putting over the NMM ?

" hose him down" ..be careful

Thanks for sharing

Nap

Thanks all.

Kevin....The final wash over the dulled NMM lace will be gold ink or paint intended to leave some tiny metallic flecks after drying, still allowing the NMM to show through. In the past, I have sometimes applied this too strongly, obscuring the underlying paint. The key is to keep it very diluted.

Colin
You make it sound so easy, I have more paint on my brush than on the figure.

I keep following hoping something will rub off.
