I don't know where I was when this figure was released. But wow, what a
killer figure. The sculpting of all the folds that meet at the belt buckle is so fine

This figure is from Romeo and it came out this year (but as time goes fast it could be last year)
It is 75 mm called Anne Bonny, sculpted by the man Maurizio Bruno and painted first by Danillo Cartacci.

Thank you Marc. . .

Hey there Marc, thank you for taking time to supply that information. My
goodness the members here are really well mannered and so helpful. I did
get a PM from HouseCarl and he also give me that information.

Gentlemen, I do appreciate it. It is a shame I didn't see this before I moved
to my new (ah, . . . that's new to ME) house in late October. The moving
expenses cost a lot of cash. . . and so I'm not able to consider that figure
at this point. But I will remember the information. And maybe I'll find the
end of the rainbow that they talk about in Ireland. :) :) I'll drink to that!
:D :D

Thanks again,

rick

Thanks again for the SBS Dimitrios.

I always had difficulty obtaining a smooth enough finish with oils. I'll try out your technique some time.

Cheers, Adrian

Adrian I ll be happy to see your results. If there is anything I can help you with don't hesitate to pm me.

Hi Dimitrios,
I spent a splended time eagerly reading your sbs. Fantastic result on the face, can´t wait to see your figure finished. Thanks for sharing, your approach was very helpful to me. I could compare my approach to yours and correct some of my mistakes inbetween different stages of painting. Thanks for that.
best regards to Greece:)

Brad, Robert thank you for your comments. Will post an update on the kit pretty soon. The brushes are on fire with this one. Robert i m a big fan of your work. Every piece is pleasure to my eyes. So coming from you really means alot. I wish i knew your technique and compare it with mine. So maybe when you have time you can do a similar sbs. I for once will follow like hell. Thans again guys.

Dimitrios what an informative and exellent Sbs that you put together and the result that you achieve is looking great. I am eager to learn more oil painting for flesh and when i start my next figure i think i will try your tecnique. I have tried oils once before for flesh but used the oil in its `out of the tube state` without dilluting which has a nice effect, i didnt realise you could dillute it to the extent you would with acrylics.

Thanks for the info and exellent looking figure.

Thanks for doing this SBS Dimitrios! Your figure looks amazing. Your SBS is perfect for us visual learners. I must be thick as I have all the modern books on painting but there always seems to be something I don't understand.
Now if only we could get a decent DVD showing us complete SBS's for painting figures in oils and acrylics with easy to understand instructions, it would make a lot of us more confident in our approach to figure painting! I wonder how many figs I will muck up until then :p

Thanks again...

Dimitrios, I take this as a challenge, so I will pick one fine 75 figure and start a sbs of my own approach. I think I owe you this:) But firstly I have to complete some of the figures I started lately and than I will clean up my table and start it all for you planeteers.
take care Dimitrios, your figures are briliant! keep it coming

Great thread; very informative and practical. Thank you so much.

I have saved this to my personal file of painting ideaas and instructions and will look at it agina when I do my next figure face.

Steve,Gary,Rod,Robert,Pedro and PJ I really want to thank all and each one of you for your kind comments. If this thread managed to help just one painter out there then it was more than worth the effort.what's even better is to hear that artists like Robert are willing to share their techniques and "secretes" with us. I think that with this kind of stuff this place could be the best place for people loving this wonderfull hobby. Cause I always thought that exhibiting finished work is rather inspiring but not very teaching. I hope my English make sense!!! Take care all. Thank you again guys.

Dimitrios

Thanks for this SBS. I can only imagine how time consuming this has been. I am a long time oil painter and it is great to see someone explain their methodology. Acrylic painters get more than their fair share, about time we got ours;)
Cheers
Paul

John, Paul thank you for taking the time to look and comment. Paul i couldnt agree more with you about the amount of articles and posts on acrylic painting vs oils. I m very glad you liked this thread.
