I have thought for some time now that my painting skills could be moved on to the next level by some tuition from a master. You have probably seen that Nuts, Life and FER are co hosting an event in Barcelona over the Easter weekend. the cost of the 2 days is very reasonable but when I checked flights and accommodation it was about £700 for the weekend!

I asked if they are planning anything in the UK and they aren't at the moment, I also saw a similar event being organised in Canada.

With all this in mind I thought I would see if there is any interest for something similar in the UK.

For those of us based in the UK would there be a demand to attend such an event?

If so who would be the target tutors, bearing in mind we have some world class artists in the UK and some Of whom are on PF

What subjects would you like to see covered? acrylics, oils, flesh metal, NMM, airbrushing, busts, figures, etc

If there was interest I would be happy to get involved in helping organise on behalf of the tutor or tutors. Or is it something which one of the U.K. Manufacturers or suppliers would be interested in supporting?

Thoughts?

Cheers

Neil

Neil,

It's a great idea , perhaps one for the North and South , or maybe get one running at a show eg Scale Model World at Telford .

If you can get a company on board then perhaps they might donate the model to paint , I know that RP run painting groups with a club called Green Models where they paint the same figure...just an idea.

Possibly one for busts as well as figures !

Fleshtones is a good one but working with the harder colours maybe whites

Sun Feb 28th the Crewe heritage centre
South Cheshire Militaire new venue.
Adrian Hopwood is doing an oils painting demonstration.

I am usually daubing with acrylics on the kitmaker Bulldogs stand at all the shows between Halesowen and Liverpool.

If I can ever help... please introduce yourself.

Paul.

Adrian's demo will be good even though it's Oils!

Like Paul .....I demo Acrylcs and wet pallete use at all the shows on our display

If I can be of any help let me know

Don't want to sit next to Peedee as he copied my homework !!

Thanks for all your inputs so far, let's give it a couple of days, perhaps over the weekend and see what we get in terms of consensus.

Paul / Kev

I think demos are good but not the same as actual tuition, I've seen a few demo sessions and it's hard to get out of it what you need as it can be a bit of a zoo, I saw one with Carl sculpting at Euro a few years back and one with Jesus at Euro years ago. It's just too busy. Have a look at the format for Barcelona if you haven't seen it, it's a bust fest Kev so would be great for us!

I will be at Crewe so will come and find you Paul.

Cheers
