This is a Huli Tribesman on Mount Goroka. I've just completed refurbishing and rebasing this piece first made in 1992. I think that I used one of Ulrich Biroths' unusual bases and played around with it. This piece represents a Haroli dancer. Hope you like it.

Victor - Wonderful scene! I believe either the lighting or the flash you are using is over-highlighting the white parts like the head dress. I tried to fix this using Photoshop, but the software could not overcome the highlighted whites without washing out other colors. Could you try re-shooting the photos and significantly reduce the lighting? If you could shoot the photos in ambient daylight and no flash, that might look best. Or if you have to use the flash, bounce the flash light off something before it lights the figure.

All the best,
Dan

Hello Mark and Dan,

Thanks for you kind comments. I know I should not use flash especially on such a short distance. Just using a simple point and click camera most of the time. We unfortunate have a haze situation for weeks now in the region (SE Asia) and it feels like Mt Krakatoa has erupted again. So not much bright daylight and I was experimenting with the pics, including (you guessed it) photoshop...:)

A great idea , well presented, eyecatching base and well modelled groundwork,

It's always good when a model makes you smile too !
