120mm British Para, Falklands War 1989. First time I have picked up a brush in well over 15 years, got some useful tips and hints off the threads on here (so thank you!). Got along way to go before I'm back in the swing of it!

Hi Steve,

I like where you've started and I especially like the fact that you chose to cam the face up and added some mud to the uniform, as should be done.

Certainly there's room for improvements in terms of your painting techniques and your groundwork, but after a 15 year break you're entitled to a bit of time to get back into your groove.

If I can offer advice it would to concentrate on painting faces. They will be both the hardest and most rewarding aspect of figure modelling, and you will benefit from developing a technique for painting faces that delivers consistent results.

You probably couldn't have picked a more difficult figure to paint, but Tony offers good advice there.

DPM sends shivers down the spine of most painters, but you done a very decent job there.

Nice job all things considered - do an easier one next time!

Excellent job Steve as the others have said a few tweaks here and there but nothing to be ashamed of at all there

Thanks guys for the feedback so far, I was very heavy handed when it came to the 'cam cream' and I was pretty disappointed with it. One of the things I did find out now that I started painting again, was the fact f that I needed glasses! Of course the Falkland's war was in 1982, I typo there I'm afraid! As for picking an easier figure, where would the fun in that be??? At present I'm tackling a 120mm MARSOC marine, face is covered in this one, so just the uniform to concentrate on.
