Following on from the Trained Band standard bearer, I've finally completed the ECW musketeer (also from Elan13 Miniatures.
The figure is 65mm and represents a generic soldier in the Parliamentary forces.
Painted in a mix of enamels, oils, acrylics and printer's inks.
The drummer in the series has been started, and Rupert is waiting in the wings.

It was a fun figure to paint (sculpted by Ian Succamore).

Cheers,
Andrew

Very nice figure Andrew.
Nice colour choices.
You could have pushed the contrast on the upper body a bit more I think. That and a bit of outlining around the colour could give him a bit more ‘pop’.
Will shut up now, seeing this is in the completed section...sorry...

Hi Andrew

Nice to see you painting , going to need a bigger table at this years Bugle Call on 27/11 !!

It's a good sculpt from Ian , do like the young looking face on him you've done a nice version , the apostles are a interesting choice ( think I've seen a picture in Osprey )

Glad you had fun ,look forward to the drummer and the Prince ( with dog I presume )

Thank you for taking the time to look and comment Adrian.
You're most certainly correct regarding the 'pop'.
However, I was trying to make him as dowdy as possible, with just the painted powder flasks providing the colour.
Maybe I went too far on the 'dowdy'.

Cheers,
Andrew

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment Kevin.

I never knew that the powder flasks were painted until I happened to read about it in Tony Barton's item on his ECW musketeer:-

Drummer's moving slowly, mainly due to my purchases at El Greco.
Hopefully, I'll have him (and Rupert) done by Bugle Call.

Cheers,
Andrew

Lovely piece of work Andrew. I wouldn't call it dowdy perhaps muted describes it better.

Shame Elan only does small scales, they produce some nice stuff but too small for me.
