Finally, my first one for 2021.
Elan13's Parliamentary trooper, English Civil War (65mm figure by Mike Blank).
Painted generally in oils over Humbrol enamels, apart from the helmet and breastplate which are oils over acrylic (Baroque, Molten Metal by Dark Star).

Pleased you like him Kevin.
I have a couple of other 65mm Elan13 ECWs on the bench (Cromwell and Standard Bearer).
Unfortunately both have a spur broken off. One is in a box awaiting re-attachment, while the other is having to be rebuilt following loss to the carpet monster.

Cheers,
Andrew

Very nice paint job Andrew. Nice to see an ECW figure. They were very popular a few years back, but seem to have been eclipsed somewhat by the current trend for European subjects of the same era. This one looks good. Full marks Elan 13.

Thank you for your kind comment Phil.
Rob has quite a few ECW figures in his range (both 54mm and 65mm). All are excellent.
With regard to the trend change, it's understandable that European manufacturers would concentrate on the 30 Years War.

Excellent painting Andrew, its one I have yet to do.

Many thanks Bob.
If you ever get around to this one, watch out for the face guard. It's very delicate, and I ended up using fuse wire for the front bar (after I broke the original).
The supplied peak was a piece of plastic sheet cut to the correct shape (it looks perfect), to which I connected the guards.
I painted the unit separately and it then stayed well away from the figure until I'd finished.
Needless to say, watch out for those spurs.

Cheers,
Andrew
