Hey folks,

here's my latest WIP on the 75MM Colonel of Hussars. It's been a bear to paint and I'm hoping to complete the top half of the figure this weekend and have this done in time for the Chicago Show. It's been pretty slow going just because there is so much to paint. It seems like as soon as I finish a part I find something new to paint on the top half.

Painted in acrylics. All comments welcome.

Cheers,

Mike

As with all the pegaso mounted figures Mike they are a challeng to say the least . all sorts of problems to overcome ; what do I paint before assembly etc .
You really got to rein in the enthusiasm with this suff and slow down :)
Looking great so far , watching closely (y)

Ron

Ron,

You are correct with regard to mounted figures and the painting and assemble process. I always try to assemble the whole kit first and paint. I'm scared to death of painting and then using glue! Ugg! I've had one too many disasters is the past.

It feels like I'm going pretty slow as it is. I normally keep only one figure on the bench at a time and it creates focus. I have planned two hours a day of painting and have been pretty successful with that target so far. This weekend was kind of a bust. didn't get near as much time at the bench as I had hoped for. I was able to get a start on the trousers. I was griping about green and now I'm griping about red!.

Thanks, for looking.

Coming along nicely Mike.

Cheers,
Pedro.

Thanks Pedro

My way with Nap green these days is Andrea Nac-10 painted over with Oils : vert green and highlighted with cinnabar green . as for red well! Scale models aldebaran redSC38 undercoat and a high quality Cad red and an even better quality Vermillion , tints cad orange ,shades caput morton all mixed with pure turpentine which I sniff every now and then

Joking aside this is shaping up nicely (y)
