G'day all. My latest project Pegaso's Viking Chieftain. Painted in acrylics with oil paint washes to weather the armour and other metals. With much wailing and gnashing of teeth from the purists, I included the wings on the helmet, as honestly, how can you build this kit and leave them off?

Hi Graham,
I really like colours, tones and contrasts you have achieved on this figure it all balances very well and the very subtle details such as the stitching and bone handle on the knife.(y)

I love this figure. I always have, and I haven't got it!! It's a crime really. You have made a great job of this Macca. The skin tones are excellent and the shield gives a nice splash of colour to the kit. I agree with you about the helmet. Wings may have been a bit unrealistic and romantic in Viking times but on this figure they give it real charisma. Excellent work.

Excellent work! I'll be leaving the wings off mine when I come to paint it, but as "Victorian romantic" as they are, you've made a great job of painting them. They look spot on (as is the rest of the figure).

Thanks for the comments guys. I 've just made the switch to predominately using Jo Sonya acrylics and have really been pleased with the results.

Having a lifelong interest in the Vikings, I can say that the wings are wrong, but who cares? The whole thing looks great.
Best wishes, Gary.

Lovely job on this piece. I'm a wings off man myself but where someone uses them it's important that they don't become the dominant part of the figure.
You've got it just about perfect. The wings tie into the piece so well because of your excellent choice of colours, and well done for 'banding' the feathers horizontaly.
Also like the belt of colour the shield gives the figure (y)
Cheers
Derek
