Hi,

My last post, here, was a long time ago. I've been out of the hobby for awhile (studying and work). Now, I'm all done with the boring stuff, so I've decided to paint again.

A friend of mine introduce me to the Long Island show. I've decided that it would be a great opportunity for me for a come back to the hobby. Since I've never been at this show, I'm a bit nervous about my figure. It is fairly good but I'm not looking to get awards. I'm just looking to meet people and getting good critique. Maybe, I will learn new tricks as well!!!

So, here it is. You will see it at the show on saturday. That will be my only piece at the show!!!
The picture are not very good. Sorry!!!

I can relate to the photo taking thing. I can't get a decent pic no matter how many times I tried. (and I have, lol) From what I can see, you do very well for someone who has been away from the brushes for a spell. Good contrasts and he has that, "thousand yard stare" of a long fought veteran. Very nice groundwork too and the flag adds well to the scene. Good luck at the show.

I'm pretty sure that the photos don't do your figure justice. The flash seems to have washed out a lot of the colour, but it looks pretty good to me.

Thanks for your comments guys. You are probably right about the pictures.

I'm a poor photographer. I don't have the proper equipment. I should invest in a good camera.

Anyway, I'm pretty happy with the result myself. Like I said, for me, it is good enough. And if people can enjoy a reasonable figure at the show, then it will be a winner for me.

Hope to meet people there on friday night and saturday.

Long Island was a great show. I finally end up with a Gold medal in the painters category. Thanks to Mr. Greg DiFranco and his comments about those little things I have to correct to get better!!!

See ya next year!!!
