Hi Pietro, I love both of these releases and will buy them at Euro in September.

Agree with you totally Eduardo there is a mass of Napoleonic uniform material that hasn't been touched by the producers yet.

Between all these beautifully uniformed officers I'd like to see a few well sculpted "grunts". The simple foot sloggers that marched, fought and died in their ten thousands. No misunderstanding: I like the Pegaso 75mm Napoleonics but the occasional enlisted man would balance the officers and be cool.

The Lancer is now no surprise, similar to that of Atelier Maket, but could make a cute couple if the scale is right!

The Celt carries at least before his lance plausible than the Pegaso, or should it be a banner rod?

Made are both excellent, no question about that!

Hendryk

I don't disagee at the skill on display here but I also have a problem with some of the Pegaso 75mm figures (and some of the Atelier Maket ones too). Some are spot on, (the best available in my opinion), but others seem to be out of proportion, even though I can't put my finger on why.
It may just be artisic style, but this lancer just seems too perfect to me, like a romantised painting or a modern fashion model dressed up. He maybe technically in proportion, but how many of us look like we are? Michelangelo was a great sculptor but you don't see many guys walking around that look like his statue of David.
I agree with Manfred and would like to see a few grissled veterans in battered campaign gear . I'm with Edorta too, Pegaso already do a mounted 2nd Lancer and excellent Drum Major. Why another when the Atelier Maket figure is also available in the same scale?
The Celts are superb - wrong period for me, Damn it!

I urge people to have a look at period uniforms in museum near you. The first thing that will strike you is how slim and small people were two centuries ago...

Hi Claude!
Thank you for your appreciation....see us at euro!

Dear Hendryk, I'm not sure if I have well understood your meaning...could you please explain me better?

Pietro

Dear Edorta,

I personally agree with you about the fact that the production goes too much on the mainstream subjects. On our personal history, as you can see by looking to our catalogue, we have produced not only french and english subjects...but also Italians, Austrians, prussians, Bavarians, Brunswick, Russians. I'm speaking about all our productions, specially the "old" 54mm one.
Well...our personal balance from this experience is that, at the end, the "answer" from the modelers is different. We, sadly, do not have so great possibilities to make "experiments"...and all the times we stop and think about to make, just for example, a portuguese or a danish subject instead than the "usual" french one...we go everytime back on the main road.
Years ago we have made a small serie of Brunswick figures in 54mm....3 or 4 figures....well....none of them, despite their very good artistical and technical realization, reached the same sellings of a french or english subject. I arrive also to write the following "strong" words eh eh eh.......sometime also from the producer and the sculptor side could be boring to realize the same or similar subjects. But what you see in the end is always the consequence of "market feelings" that right or wrong are the result of every producer's experience and possibility.
This point of view can fits with all the historical periods, not only the napoleonic. Despite this Pegaso tried a lot in the past to make "alternative" subjects. Sometime we try also now....

Zero "polemic" willings from my side:) ....just a friendly consideration that not always we choose in a complete free way what to produce.

Nice to hear your thoughts Pietro, Difference of opinion is only personal taste. I bought all the Brunswick figures and think they are superb. Everything seems to be being re-made in 75mm these days and nothing wrong with that, but as a result. it does seem a little unadventurous I guess.
As a big Waterloo geek, I have always hoped for more Dutch Belgian, Netherlands and Prussian subjects, especially a Dutch/Belgian Carabinier. how about it? It is 2015 after all!
