Except for Vercingetorix I am not sure of their exact title and the stock numbers I took from the photo numbers.

Wow, some nice release this month! Love those Samurai together and that Vercingetorix is just fantastic! Thanks for sharing Guy!

Again all lovely pieces, those Samurai together are awesome, looks like I will be having all of these to add to the collection, the Vercingetorix is a nice piece but not too sure about those wings, I will still get it anyway.

what means, generically, "native american"? Is he an Apache, or a Kiowa? Is he an Algonchin or a Mattaponi? Is he an Hopi or a Bella Bella ????
Robert

...no, he is a..."Bello, Bellooooo!"
...you know??:D

Like Guy said, there was no name in the preview topic...we'll give notice of the right title when the subjects will be officially released...
bye

Thanks for the preview of these figures Guy.
I love the Vercingetorix figure except for the 'Pegaso school of sculpting' obligitory one knee up pose.
This is something that's terribly overdone in the Pegaso catalogue IMO.
I aware that it is a 'classical pose' but a great figure doesn't necessarily have to follow that tradition.
Still it's a great piece that I'd love to have and paint.

Dear friends this is Tamerlan it is 90mm!
Sculpt by Victor Konnov
Painted by Diego Ruina!
Presented at Germany's fair next week!

Sorry Mr. Pasquals, I don't know pegaso forum! I only read, like Guy writes, "I just noticed these on the Pegaso Forum."

Secutor, whatever the company puts as a title on this will have very little basis in fact. Pegaso and Andrea in particular have a habit of producing a figure with "Native American" features (feathers, fringe, beads, etc.) and then deciding to call it "Sioux", "Cheyenne", "Arapaho", etc with not a clue as to what of all those features COULD make it one of those peoples. General styles of dress and weapons were common to a number of tribes in any given location and it quite often minor details--colors or beads, arrangement of decorations, etc.--that would in reality determine what tribe the figure may represent. Quite often there are several details on a given figure identified as one tribe which literally eliminate the figure as a member of the stated group. So "Native American" is probably a pretty good description, as there is nothing on the figure to determine tribe of origin. History and accuracy take a back seat to flashy presentation and improbable titles.

I really like the Vercingetorix piece. Great sculpting with awesome detail. I also have my doubts about the fancy wings at his helmet. Overall he looks a bit "vikingish" and not particularly celtic to me. I have to add here, that I'm not an expert at all. It is just my personal impression.

Robert you are very likeable, but what do you think about Vercingetorix?
Maybe someone has drawn them on this picture?

OMG that Temrlane is one of the most impressive models I've ever seen! Great releases coming up, its a shame for me that they are 90mm. I think the price for 90mm have gotten a bit out of hand. One thing I noticed is that they are calling the Vercingetorix piece a Viking on the Italian Pegaso forum. Which makes sense because based on the art I've seen of Vercingetorix, it doesnt look like him to me really.

Steve, I have hardly read your participation and I thank you for the elucidations. But, in all honesty, I did not thinked was worked therefore; I thinked that when a subject is conceived, leaving from a good documentation, has already the clear ideas of what it will come outside and not that is come true they figure with moccassins, slacks and shield and then look for which tribe wears the more equal dressed ones to couple a name!
I did not think that “modus operandi” in order to realize a good subject was this but, evidently, pegaso (and andrea) works therefore!
Thanks again for your availability
Robert
