Finished this little fellow a couple of weeks ago in time for my second only model show - NZ's IPMS & Model Expo Nationals.

It's a very old Pegaso kit now running as a clear out special over on their site. Though a bit fiddly it is still a wonderful figure IMHO ;-)

A full SBS on it can be found over at MedRom here:

Your comments welcome.

Mike

P.S. If you are a collector and would be interested in adding this fellow to your collection, please feel free to contact me. I'd like him to go to a good home :)

Thank you Allan, yep neat little fellow & I try to capture a young aristocratic look to him. The box art didn't do the kit justice in this case.

Take care,

Mike

Appreciate positive comments Andy & George. The master by Adrianno Larrucia is masterful sculpt, the perfect canvas to practice on.

Mike

Hi Mike

Very beautiful.
I liked the fresh tone in particular.
The ground work is also wonderful.
The feel of a material of the metal is also Great.
I congratulate completion.

Hello Mike,Great to see your figure again.I was fantastic to see him in the flesh at the I.P.M.S Nationals. You have taken some great photos of him.Just love the way you have painted him.It was your painting of him that has inspired me into wanting to paint one of these fellows.:)

Regards,John

Hello Mike,
when I saw the boxart of this on Pegaso home page I wondered what attracted you on this piece. Well somethimes it is worth to believe in the master skulptor skills (Adriano Laruccia is my favourite). Lets go to your version. Fantastic face Mike, I can´t figure out how to hell you painted that unbelievable face. I mean its 54mm, hell its good!!! Than attracted me the hands, also loaded with fine details. Canvas is nicesly shaded, the worn yellow is superb. Metal parts are beautiful, too. Well Mike you painted an excelent figure, your work is powerful inspiration for me and am sure that as well for the others.
take care, :)

Pedro, Carl, Jay, Stefano & MikeUS,

Most appreciate your support for this little guy, he was a joy to paint and highly recommended if you can get him assembled properly ;-)

I also used actual fabric dyed in the medieval way to try & capture the colours, so glad they come off OK here.

I'm humbled to have received this post from your Jaume as it has been your painting & flesh tones that I used as the basis for what I was trying to achieve with this guy. Though I didn't use quite the same mix as you (my stock of Vallejo isn't that complete ;-) I tried to get the same colouring you had used. I collected many of your figure photos from around the web & enlarged them to see where you added your shade & light then tried to do the same thing.

So thank you for sharing your expertise to a willing student.

Kind regards,

Mike

Hi Mitsutaka,

As a man who knows his groundwork your compliment on this is most welcome thank you.
I've admired your figures here and would love to paint as quickly as you can.
Also happy that the 'feel' of material and metal is coming through because trying to get the texture of this is an important part of painting I think.

Take care,

Mike

He's still on special over at Pegaso's site John, so don't delay :) I'd love to see you do him in Red & white maybe ;-)

Also your tips on photography helped heaps, tried for that 'intensity' touch you spoke about. Response here indicates it may have worked.

Take care,

Mike
