Barry Lyndon Lyndon apart, The Duellists is IMHO the best movie ever, as it comes to depicting napoleonic years and uniforms.Your screen name is Nap and you haven’t seen “The Duellists!?!?” All I can say is you have an extraordinary pleasure awaiting. My favourite film of all time.
Thanks for the encouragement.

It’s a matter of taste Ernie. I always liked d’Hubert more and sympathized with him being a hostage to honour…agreeing to duel after duel with no real choice and no vested interest in the outcome except perhaps his own survival. I always see Feraud as a thug and a bully.Barry Lyndon Lyndon apart, The Duellists is IMHO the best movie ever, as it comes to depicting napoleonic years and uniforms.
Amazing how a short story by Conrad became an absolute Classic.
By the way, is it only me that always took Feraud's sides , despite his unsavoury manners ?
D'Hubert should come out as the good guy in the end, but somehow I felt he's a bit too smart and kind of an opportunist
Certainly not a nice character to deal with, though d'Hubert is the kind of guy who always makes the right choices at the right time. It’s a matter of taste Ernie. Interestingly, his real life counterpart Francois Fournier is one of my favourite Napoleonic generals. I have modelled him multiple times as I love the uniform and I have even sought out and acquired a document signed by him.

One thing about The Duellists that rarely gets mentioned is the excellent musical score.

I have a bunch of Perrys in the GA including both sets of British cavalry taking eagles at Waterloo, Ney’s Waterloo charge, and Gordon’s death at Khartoum. Plus a whole bunch of ideas for using Napoleonic and plastic multi pose figs.I know ...going to hunt it out
As for the figure painting they are looking just great , love the way you’ve done the lacing and the appropriate uniform colours ....your definately enjoying these
The whole set is going to look really impressive ...and after I think these won’t be your last from Perrys
Have fun @ the bench

Thanks Phil. I’ve always loved painting 28’s. They just suit me dtyle and they’re great for a manageable diorama.Really nice - this will be a fantastic diorama. It's amazing how much detail you're able to pick out on such small figures.
Regards,
-Phil
