Unfortunately I don't have that much time to paint but I made some more progress on the pirate.

I fixed the other arm onto the body. The arm didn't fit that well but tried to make the best of it.
I painted the arm and added some more shadow to the whole jacket. For the sword it took me three times
before I was satisfied with the result. I still have to paint his right sock and to finish the base.

Thanks for looking, and all comments and critiques are welcome!!

Beautiful..........really outstanding blues and purple / grape colored waist jacket. Excellent shading overall. I like your version better than my own.

Guy, thanks for the nice compliments, I’m flattered. I have to say that I used your "Dead Men Tell No Tales" as a guide to paint mine, and yours is really a beautiful piece of work.

Excellent Marcel,
Your not into hurry painting payes off.

Finishing the Pirate

Finally the pirate is almost finished (99% done), I still have to do some last touch-ups after glueing the piece together, and maybe some more after the comments :) .

I've painted the base and put everything together. Hope you like it.
Comments are welcome, as always!

Marcel.

Guy, Costas, Balázs and Robert thanks for your nice words, this figure was a pleasure to work on.

In the future I will paint some more pirates and probably try to make a beautiful vignette like the one of Guy. ;)

Hi Marcel, you have done a beautiful painting and as Guy says nice flesh tones .But perhaps a small suggestion, i will shadow a little more where i set the 2 rings on the picture. What do you think about it ?

Georges you're right this could use some more shadowing, I will try to correct it. Thanks for looking.

- Base colour: Brown Sand 876
- Highlights: base + Basic Skintone 815
- Extreme Highlights: base + Basic Skintone 815 + Light Flesh 928 (zeer verdunt)
- Shadows: base + Burnt Cad.Red 814
- Extreme shadows :base + Burnt Cad.Red 814 + Black

I would love to see a vignette with your pirates Marcel. I know it would be beautiful as your 1st one is amazing. The vignette I did took about 2 years while working on other commission works and was an enjoyment to create.
