That's very nicely done. It's also a brilliant piece if sculpture. I like the way you have done the subtly different versions of horizon blue.
 
That sculpture is fantastic but your paining of that face is awesome, totally captured the mood, almost haunting. Brilliant paint work
 
You really bought it all together on this Dave. A touching, moving study of this young man in a torrid time.
Emotion visible in his face & eyes. Then there is the detail painting. Just inspirational & something I appreciate you sharing so we can learn from how to bring humanity to our painting.

Great work DAve. Have this one on the shelff and i'm gonna start it this year.
Therefore can you share the mix of your horizon blue. It's great.

Windsor and Newton oils; Indigo, Titanium White, Raw umber, and a tiny bit of Yellow Ochre and some red[ bright red] shift the blue away from the green hue of the Indigo. You can also add some Cobalt blue if it's a struggle to get the blue you want.;)
