Beautifully painted and just a perfect style for this kit.
I always thought that the rider seemed to be going faster than the horse on this one

Mrs Helm says it's because he's standing in the stirrups Del I said exactly the same thing about it to her (y) Me I know a horse has a leg on each corner and the head and tail tell you where the food goes in and the sh@t comes out ;)

Langenberg, an excellent rendition of this classic kit. Your painting style has without doubt got the best out of it. From the horse, the furniture to the rider, all beautifllly rendered.

This has to go down as one of the best kits of ALL TIME, and you've done it proud.

There was a recent lengthy debate about which is the best between Pegaso / Post Militaire. I reckon you've answered it.

Blind, thank you for your comments. I ran across and read that thread a few weeks ago. Like most, I've painted several of each. What I find interesting is that the style of sculpture and drapery is reflective and supportive of the style of painting predominant at the time. As acrylics have established a prominence amongst painters, and the associated painting style is often very stark in contrast, the sculptures often reflect this in sharp drapery. The PM kits on the other hand are quite soft by comparison, in a time when most were painting in oils and blending on the canvas so to speak. Of course these are all my opinions and not meant to stir up any fecal hurricanes.

I need some guidance regarding one of the Poste Militaire Mounted Kits. I just visited Bonapartes website. They offer two kits and one conversion kit for both of them. The picture representing a conversion kit in use shows shabraque with Imperial Guard and Napoleon symbols. Which kit should I buy to have this shabraque?

There are two post Militaire kits which are effectively identical with the exception of a lance or trumpet occupying the right hand. In both kits the supplied shabraque is like the one I've painted with the bear skin. This one has been modified or substituted. I'm leaning towards a substitute since it appears to be cast metal. Interesting conversion.

Best bet is to contact Bonapartes they are always very helpful I've found. The conversion kit doesn't show a shabraque just head, arms and legs
