Ralph's post regarding his reasons for no longer taking an active part on the forum got me thinking.
A number of previously regular contributors have quietly disappeared.
Ken (bagelman 1952) Fisher
Steve (Steve) Scott
Harry (harrytheheid) Anderson
To name but three.
It'd be good to hear that all are well.

Mike Meehan (sp?) Not seen him in ages, a master of the translucent effect and a real gent
Steve

There are quite a few of the old brigade of regulars who have left....or just sit in the background these days....I'm not so sure it is all down to the frequent aggressive exchanges tho....
There are a lot of new members who...IMHO....don't have the same communication skills of the older guys....
Engaging SBS's are a rarity these days....we used to have a lot of fun with all the questions and banter....it just isn't like that anymore :(
All things change over time...some for the better....some not...and the upsurge in social media sites...Facebook et al....are a huge part of the decline of specialist forums....and these sites don't cater for genuine exchanges of thoughts/ideas...
Which is why a lot of makers/manufacturers use them....as they avoid the things they don't want to hear/accept....and was the strong point of PF.....

I think you could well be right Ron.
One of the nicest guys to grace the site Kansas Kid no longer actively engages as much as he previously did but I'm in no doubt still looks in ........ at least I hope he does ......... after all who else do we know who plays Wiggle Ball or whatever that mad sport he does is called ;)

Kansas Kid aka Rick Brownlee....a true gent...with a huge passion for the painters art...which made him one of my favourite contributors (y).....he had a few health issues a while back...but a will of iron ;)

I understand that a number of our friends across the Atlantic have become disenchanted with the site and no longer contribute. There have been a number of issues which many of you are aware of and have resulted in some well known defections and resignations. There are also a lot of new members so I think it will always be a moveable feast.

Gentlemen and Ladies, I do so appreciate your kind words about this
old modeler. Yes, I am still here, and I do try to look at this site each day.
An acquaintance of mine said that I was embarrassing myself with the
things I was writing on this site; especially that fact that I was stating my
age too much of the time. Well, unfortunately, I'm now working on my
80th year. I'm still able to live on my own, drive a car and fend for
myself. I am sorry that I stayed away for so long. . . I was just so hurt
from the remarks from a person I thought was my friend. . . Thus I've been
only an observer of this site, . . . and not a contributor. I will try to ammend
that situation and do so appreciate your kind words, ladies and gentlemen,

Rick Brownlee, in Heartland America, a.k.a. Kansas Kid & The Miami
Jayhawk. ( ah. . . I'm the Miami Jayhawk because I graduated from the U.
of Kansas and worked for quite a period at The Miami Herald in Miami
as a newsroom artist. . . )

About bloody time you showed up ......huh!....the things some people do to get noticed

Some people take things the wrong way when a true friend tries only to help. When a true friend tries to inform you of things a lot of people say to me and others behind his back were relayed with only the intention to let that person be aware of what was being said behind his back. Unfortunately everyone must be told that I am some sort of creep or worse because I cared enough to be a true friend as I always had been so yes everyone, I`m the traitor friend who by the way has a great life, so I`m not afraid of everyone knowing since you found it so amusing to cut me down and call me names, keep `em coming people since I have no life and am so mean and evil. I enjoy looking at PF daily also. Have a great day everyone and don`t be afraid to say things about me since I know it makes him feel better. Paul..............................

Mike Meehan is mostly on "Coolminiornot" and I think "Putty and Paint. I guess you can only visit so many sites and still paint some stuff???? I am 78 and still looking to get the hang of this figure stuff and also the Stupid computers that don't understand what I want to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope Windows 10 is listening and taking note!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers
John

Life is short and every day is a gift regardless of age, and never let a so called friend spoil your fun.

Glad you are alive and kicking, now post some pics of your latest projects :)!
