The trouble with busts, superb though they may be, is that colourful breeches, boots, sabretaches and sabres get omitted.

Brilliant sculpting Carl.
I am not sure quite what it is but there is something in your last few faces that really draws your eyes to the piece.
Great figure Mate

Excellent work Carl.
Anyone post a reference pic for the uniform colour?

Gells

Here is a link to his Waterloo uniform that I believe was worn with the shako (I think Carl has chosen a different portrayal but correct me if I am wrong). http://lswift89.wordpress.com/2013/02/21/by-god-sir-ive-lost-my-leg/

You can see the colour in a first legion release review on the home page.

Carl....when you sculpt the legs don't do them separately. If you do and someone loses one, they will have to say '"by God, I've lost my leg!" :)

Here are a couple of images.

Oh dear. I've got to get this one, but I will wait for the legs. Carl has out done himself. A Wellington and Picton must follow (also as full figures if they do).

That is truly beautiful workmanship.
Seeing the reference pics really highlight how difficult it must be to replicate.
Is the hat black or brown? Not sure if the pictures are making it brown.
Apologies to all the Napoleonic guys for being so ignorant.
Cheers,

Gells

As for Wellington and Picton, nothing is planned as yet!

We could do with a decent Wellington. The last reasonable one came from Ceremonial Studios many years ago. David Grieve did an excellent bust, which I suppose could be 'completed' (over to you Graham). I seem to remember reading that Wellington had an abhorrence of gloves, and also of his officers using umbrellas in the rain when on campaign!

Happy modelling,

Mike

Like I say Mike, nothing is planned as yet!
I'm sure MMM will want to test the market with this piece before they invest any further funds into this particular theme.

The old Almond Wellington is one of my favorites.
