Some more blocking in of the basic colours, straightening of lines and general tidying up, all done with acrylics.
While I had the Medium Brown on the palette I gave the face an overall wash and painted in the eyes with Navy Blue.

I think the red needs to be a bit more red, if you know what I mean and the shadows deepened a bit.
 
really enjoying this tutorial mate, just primed the 2nd french figure from milmart so will be making a start over the weekend.
as far as the shortage in the trouser dept goes, is that what will happen when mrs roger finds out about the brush:cry:

i am on dockyard lunchtime at present mate so you will probably have another 20 figures painted by the time i have finished.:p
"was" does that mean the brush or the daughter?
 
Very well sharpened up lights Roger.
Amazing change from the last post. I am really into oil paint washes for almost everything.
In this weather the wash dries quickly so I can get the required look within a much shorter time.
