I have learned a lot from this thread, especially from Einion. Thanks a lot to everyone for providing good links and info on this subject, I feel a little more educated leaving this thread than I did entering it. :D

Hiroshi,
I second that.

Chemical safety is a variable thing.

Peanuts are safe, some people have an allergy to nuts though..... so not safe for all.

Safe/ non toxic/ etc clays/ paints could be likened to my above statement of peanuts. Safe for the vast majority, some people may have a sensitivity issue.

I commend all involved for striving to be open, offering supporting data, and remaining friendly.

No kicking, biting, scratching or name calling, everyone remained civil and adult.

It's what keeps the site good, and makes the mods job easier.

Plus, keeping the hobby safe(r) for us and our families is a good thing to be reminded of.

Cheers

I completely second the sentiments of the last posts on this issue. I've always been hesitant about joining modelling forums because it seems often they become places to go and argue rather than offer support and a positive experience. The fact that such an excellent discussion was had on something as significant as an issue of safety says a great deal about the people involved in this forum, and I think it should be applauded. It makes me very happy that I took a chance and posted.
