I've been using Crystacal R plaster for sometime with mixed results, most being very good on larger sculptures. but have always had issues when casting thinner flatter shapes say 1-2cm thick, where I'm noticing some warping ie bending. If I make a flat rectangle base, I know the original mold had a level base as the original material was made from either wood or hard styrofoam. The issue is somewhere during or after the romaval from the mold. When I lay the plaster cast down on a flat surface it isn't flush and there has a noticeable slight bend so I can't glue it down properly.

I mix 35/100 and have used this material for years with no issues on most standard sculptures but only have issues with shapes that have flat sides and are normally say 1-2cm thick.

I remove molds pretty quickly once touch dry, so maybe 20 minutes cure time. This allows me to sand down and carve better.

I was wondering if I should use a rack to allow the air to flow through as normally I just place the cast on a piece of paper and rest it on a table, but even removing the caste from mold once dry I can see a slight bend so something is happening during the actual casting process. The silicone molds I make are made from one of the best companies so I'm pretty sure it can't be the actual mold.

Has anyone ever had any similar issues or can possibly give any insight as to how to resolve.
