What can I say but that I'm speechless. Everything else has been said.
You've done your family's legacy proud. This is a beautiful, poigniant piece... congratulations.

Can't wait to see this next weekend in The Hammer. I'll be there early.

That's a great piece of painting (and indeed modifying).

I can't help looking at this chaps Brodie... It actually looks like it's made from presssed steel. You've even captured the "orange peel" texture perfectly.

As promised, here are some pictures sans flash that give a you a better idea what he really looks like. Thanks again for all the motivating feedback.

Hi Colin,
Absolutely Brilliant piece of work.
Can't wait for your next piece.
Your family should be proud of tribute.

Hi Colin,

Glad to see the finished product after so many weeks and WOW, what a result.

Not doubt you're very proud of this piece and who it represents, and rightly so.

I love the colours and the feel of this piece. Well done mate.

Hi Colin

Thanks for forwarding this link on final version.
Amazing how you captured the young look on Young's bust (pardon pun ;-)

Been listening to Voices of the Great War which is sobering stuff making it clear how tough things were for these lads.

Stay safe,

Mike

Now that's a bit special on lots of levels (y) Always liked the expression on this bust and your painting has a Mike says captured the face of a young man with a believable look of grim determination.
Tribute pieces are always very personal things so thanks for sharing the story with the rest of us.
Cheers
Derek
